Hi all, im pretty new to the web, trying to get more info. We're a little farm in Slovakia, currently milking goats and sheep, and ready to bring our first cow. But we have not decided yet what breed to buy. Since we have no experience on cattle yet, we aee looking for something smaller - of course dexter was our first choice to look at. But here we with a dilema. All foreign webs do talk about milking, cheese making and a calm cute cattle. But whatever we found and read on slovak or czech webs do start with "we bought a cow, expecting calf and so excited to start milking it" and thats it. So far we have not found a single person in 2 countries who did succesfully milk a dexter. Everybody who tried told us, its impossible. That the cow is wild, destructing the barn, etc... Simply nobody in 2 countries is milking them at all, they are kept for meat only here. Pls any idea what can be wrong, nd where the truth is at the end? May it be that we have here some special type of breed which is meat strict only? Thanks guys!
