Can anyone tell me what the LEAST amount of tail hairs they have sent in and gotten results for? We pulled and pulled on our new little red calf's tail hairs and could honestly only get about a dozen. Those new babies really hold on to their hairs!! Is it even worth sending them off? Here's a picture of her. Ain't she purrrrrrty?

She is gorgeous. We sent 6 or 7 and got results. I think I read somewhere to get at least 5. It was funny the calf didn't seem to mind at all. Acted a little bewildered but obviously not uncomfortable.

Forgot to mention the one time I did it was to find out if a bull calf was red and also checked for chondro. He was chondro free but not red. Dun carrying red. We ended up having to steer him as no one was interested in him and I have a bull calf coming up for herd sire.

Wow, good to know only 6 did it. Yes, Chrysanthemum was basically clueless when we pulled the hairs but then none of the others seem to mind either. They're just glad they're not getting shots I think!
