Ok just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. I have a 4 1/2 year old cow. When ever she is pregnant after having a calf usually when the calf is 5-6 months old and weaned. About the 3-4 month of pregnancy she is dry. If I let her calf that is about 8-9 months now the calf starts nursing her and she starts producing milk. I got her 10 month old calf 3 days ago nursing her. I separated them because of him pulling her down. Now she walks around like she is sick. This is the second year this has happened. None of my other females have done this. When they are dry they stay dry. Has anyone been through this?
